The Countdown, May 26

Today's featured artist has been making music since the mid 1980's, but did not hit it big until 1995 when he and his band released Whatever and Ever Amen. Ben Folds broke through as the front man for The Ben Fold Five and scored a series of hits including "Brick", "Battle of Who Could Care Less", and "Song for the Dumped". The fondest memory of Ben Folds Five was the quote that I read from Folds himself when he called the group "punk rock for sissies". Gotta love the man for his honesty!!! He subsequently went solo after the trio broke up and continued the hits with today's featured song, "Rockin' The Suburbs".

It's said that Folds is preparing new songs from his upcoming September release for this years Bonnaroo. I don't know too much about the disc, but I've got a feeling that any song entitled "The Bitch Went Nuts" might just be a winner.

Enjoy "Rockin' The Suburbs".
