The Countdown, Days 16-17

Another "two-fer". Today we hit on two performers that are long rooted in the recording world. First up is the son of Bob Dylan and former lead singer of The Wallflowers, Jakob Dylan. Jakob has struck out on his own and will be backed by a new supporting band at this year's Bonnaroo festival. His first ever solo album has already gotten good word of mouth from PASTE magazine and I am excited to hear it when it drops this summer.

Today's track from Dylan is his contribution to the Save Darfur disc - "Gimme Some Truth".

The second act to be highlighted today is Aimee Mann. Perhaps most successful as part of 'Til Tuesday ("Voices Carry"), Mann has been a critical darling for years now as a solo artist. Many people came to appreciate her work based on the soundtrack to the movie Magnolia. From that disc, here is her Grammy nominated "Save Me".
