Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!
No, we are not talking about truck and tractor pulls today. Instead we are talking revolution. O.A.R. (...of a Revolution) to be exact. This band has been together for 12 years, first at The Ohio State University where they took Columbus by storm before taking their show on the road. The popularity has been fueled by their live performances and the tape trading scene. From what I can tell, they have not gotten too much in the way of mainstream radio airplay nor are they a satellite darling either. If you have heard O.A.R it's probably because you have heard one of their better known songs "Lay Down", "Love and Memories, "That Was a Crazy Game of Poker", or "Wonderful Day". They are one of these bands where I like them when I hear them but I haven't loved them - yet. Everyone I know that likes them tells me just wait until I see them perform live, so the pressure is on for them to win me over at Roo. I hope that doesn't keep them up at night...
Their new album is coming out July 15th and they are hitting the road this summer in support, starting with their appearance at Bonnaroo. Today's selection is actually another cover, this time O.A.R. is joined by the previously covered Robert Randolph on a simply fantastic rendition of the Led Zeppelin classic, "Fool in the Rain".
